Explaining What You’ll Need To Get Started

Devices devices

For online sessions, bigger screens are better. A tablet with a stand is ideal, and a laptop works well too. A phone can get the job done, but watching detailed movement demos on a tiny screen is not exactly peak human performance. A stand also makes it much easier to keep your camera pointed where it needs to be — at you, not the ceiling.

Video Call videocam

I usually use FaceTime or Google Meet for online sessions. No account is needed — I’ll send you a link, and we’ll get started. Zoom is my least favorite option because the viewing field is more limited and it has roughly 47 more links buttons than anyone needs.

Scheduling schedule

Scheduling is done directly with me, usually by text. We can set a regular weekly time, or adjust week to week depending on your schedule. Work, travel, family, and general human chaos are all understood. Same-day cancellations are generally charged, though there are reasonable exceptions. Life happens — just try not to make it a hobby.

Audio headphones

Bluetooth headphones are strongly recommended. Sessions are just better when you can move around and still hear me clearly. A speakerphone can work if your space is quiet, but once you walk away from it, things get a little “shouting across the kitchen.” Light background music is fine — we’re training, not recording a podcast.

Space self_improvement

Find a space where you can move a bit. Push the coffee table to the side, roll out your mat, and make sure you can do a snow angel on your back without taking out a lamp. Keep your equipment nearby, since the session may shift depending on how your body feels that day. A home gym is a bonus, not a requirement.

Daily Life speaker_notes

Tell me about your daily life — the real version, not the brochure version. Sleep, stress, desk time, meals, walking, travel, and general chaos all matter. The workout is one hour. The rest of your day still gets a vote.

Equipment fitness_center

At minimum, you need a yoga mat and gravity. Conveniently, one of those is free. More equipment gives us more options, but most sessions can be built around dumbbells, bands, and bodyweight. Check out my favorite equipment list for ideas, or I can make you a simple setup list if you’re ready to invest.

Billing credit_card

Billing requests are typically sent on Monday or Tuesday for the previous week’s sessions. I accept Zelle, PayPal, Venmo, and BTC. Monthly receipts are available by request and can be emailed to you.
